Any Correlations Between Results Should Be Noted. Anecdotal Evidence And The ...
Any correlations between results should be noted. Anecdotal evidence and the outcome of focus groups should be used including quotes where appropriate, but clearly identified as such. Discussion I cannot make any meaningful contribution to this section without the results and method, but needless to say the results should be discussed in relation to each other and previous findings identified in the literature review. When conclusions have been drawn as to whom bears responsibility for underage drinking it would be advisable to suggest improvements to the current mechanisms. For example are there any legislative measures which would improve the status quo, e.g. should underage drinking be banned outright? What educational procedures should be put in place in relation to both children and parents? Are there ways in which shops and pubs can be effectively managed to reduce the incidence of young people purchasing and consuming alcohol? Conclusion Unfortunately I cannot be of anymore assistance on these points without the results of the study. From a reading of the literature I would predict that the findings of the study will be that no one group is entirely to blame for underage drinking. Certainly the government have a responsibility both to the health of the child and the community at large to prevent excessive underage drinking. My impression is that current policies are remedial rather than preventative and more government initiatives addressing the causes and particularly the lack of education regarding the harmful effects of alcohol would be well received. I think parents bear responsibility for the education of their children and the monitoring of their behaviour. Certainly the studies to date show that children tend to adopt their parents' attitude towards things like alcohol. I also think that the wider community bear responsibility. It is apparent that drinking alcohol has become ingrained in youth subculture and this is legitimised by a general acceptance and promotion of alcohol in a wider social context. Having said all of that, I would not wish to pre-empt the findings of the research and would advise that the conclusions are based on those.
