What has been the contribution of Neoliberal Institutionalist theory to our understanding of world politics in an age of globalization? First, however, what is Neoliberal Institutionalism? This essay, by the very nature of the questions involved, will tend to rely heavily on Braudel’s work and will begin by discussing how Braudel defined the term ‘civilisation’ and the problems with definitions.
